EGS gamma point sources for calibration

Select an EGS gamma point source suited to your measuring device. Several geometries and configurations are available as catalogue references or on request to meet your calibration requirements.
    • Using a source compatible with the configuration of your measuring device
    • Selecting the activity level and radionuclide suited to your application
    • Controlling the uncertainty associated with calibration values
    • Meeting standard requirements or specific configuration needs
    • Choose from five gamma point source geometries: Types A, E, B, V and HCO
    • Adapt the dimensions, activity and radionuclide using catalogue references or configurations available on request
    • Benefit from radiological characterisation performed, depending on the source type, using NaI scintillation detectors, traceable HPGe semiconductor detectors or ionisation chambers
    • For Types B, V and HCO, rely on calibration values provided under Cofrac accreditation with an uncertainty of 3.5% or less
    Metrological service life ≈ 2 radioactive half-lives
10 years : Recommended physical integrity lifetime
    • Cylindrical sources B, V and HCO:
      • The radionuclides are deposited in the cavity of a rigid, watertight Plexiglas cylinder sealed with a Plexiglas stopper
      • Catalogue references are available with active diameters of 3 or 10 mm, overall diameters of 25 or 38 mm, and activities ranging from 4 to 3,500 kBq
      • On request, active diameters range from 3 to 50 mm, overall diameters from 25 to 75 mm, and activities from 2 to 10 MBq
      • Catalogue radionuclides include ⁶⁰Co, ¹³³Ba, ¹³⁷Cs, ¹⁵²Eu and ²⁴¹Am
      • Other radionuclides are available on request
      • The sources are packaged in a box and a lead container
    • Annular sources A and E:
      • The radionuclides are deposited between two heat-sealed polyester sheets approximately 125 µm thick and then mounted in a Plexiglas ring
      • Catalogue references feature a 3 mm active diameter, an overall diameter of 25 or 38 mm, and activities of 4, 40, 400 or 700 kBq
      • Active diameters from 3 to 50 mm, overall diameters from 25 to 75 mm, and activities from 2 to 1,000 kBq are available on request
      • Catalogue radionuclides include ²²Na, ⁵⁷Co, ⁶⁰Co, ⁸⁸Y, ¹³³Ba, ¹³⁷Cs, ¹⁵²Eu, ²⁴¹Am and the 12ML01 mixture.
      • Other radionuclides are available on request
      • Type A sources are also available in a set of nine sources, with other combinations available on request
