Tailor made X and Y sources
LEA manufactures wire sources for IGOR anthropomorphic phantoms to simulate a homogeneous source term representative of blood contamination.
1
Challenges
Simulate homogeneous contamination throughout the body
Represent different human body builds
Select the radionuclides required for the simulation
Define the necessary activity levels
2
Our Solution
Rely on custom-made wire sources
Create a homogeneous whole-body source term using approximately 300 sources
Use individual radionuclides or mixtures
Choose from the most requested activity levels or request a different value
Access the full range of gamma emitters and gamma-emitter mixtures offered by LEA
Simulate surface or volume contamination
Tailor the volume, activity and radionuclide to your needs
3
Key Features
The IGOR anthropomorphic phantom can contain up
to 130 polyethylene
blocks of different sizes
It can simulate
body
weights ranging from 12 to 110 kg
The most requested radionuclides are
⁵⁷Co, ⁶⁰Co, ¹³⁷Cs and ¹⁵²Eu
The available mixtures are referenced as
2ML01 and 3ML01
The most requested activities are
100 Bq, 200 Bq, 500 Bq, 1 kBq and 1.5 kBq
The wire source has
a total length of 163 mm
and
a diameter of 5 mm
The active element is
15 mm long
and
5.5 mm in diamete
